The conditions here today will open up so many opportunities for the in-form players. I’m sure by the end of the day we’ll see a 64 or 65. There are so many birdie chances, and even the closing holes aren’t causing much trouble yet.
Typically it’s windy here at Birkdale, but there’s hardly any breeze today. Joe Dean tells reporters:
💬 “I’d be surprised if someone didn’t get to 6-under, maybe 7. Then again, I think you’ve still got to have a bit of luck involved as well with some good bounces, but I do think that there’s at least 6 out there.”
Thomas Detry, in at 3-under, adds:
💬 “I think these conditions will work for a lot of people.”
